ONLY THREE SYDNEY-HOBARTS TO GO

Wednesday 12 May, 1730 hours Aust EST, position 5N 146E

Day 26 and we now have under two thousand miles to the finish --
that's just over three Sydney-to-Hobarts. We are chewing through
the miles in the north east trade winds. This is easy sailing.
For once the auto pilot is up to the job and we are able to
catch up on maintenance and repair the spinnakers. It is still
very hot and humid, the days are getting longer and the sun is
passing directly over head. Soon it will pass behind us and we
will get no shade from the sails through the day. However, it
will be good for the solar panel and it is marking the passing of
distance.

Now that we have passed the Equator, I have finally allowed the
thought of finishing to creep into my mind. Imagine the thought
of sleeping for longer than two hours, or a shower, clean clothes
...(static).. it will be good to get to Osaka.
